The HUCO Herbarium started its activities on June 10, 2002 as Institutional Extension Project. It has been inserted in the Department of Forestry Engineering of the Midwestern State University (UNICENTRO), campus Irati/Parana, Laboratory of Conservation Nature since 2008. The Herbarium maintains a predominantly representative collection of the Araucaria Forest, Dense, Seasonal and Brazilian cerrado. It has a collection comprising 115 families, 483 genera, 925 species and maintaining an interchange policy with exchange and loans programs.
